I have been travelling to the Caribbean for over 15 years. I fellinlive with it my first 3 day cruise. Since then I have cruised and vacationed in many islands. Our last island trip was a one week vacation on Nevis. Our last cruise included a day in St Thomas. Having been there many times before, I knew it was much more "Americanized" than St Johns and St Croix. However it seems in just a few years since being there the cruising industry is quickly destroying its charm. We visited on a day 6 other ships were either in port or tetheredoff shore spilling 2500+ tourists each on the island. The experience was disheartening sinceIhave been on this island when you could experience the island charm it became famous for. Are those days gone forever?
